How It Works
Below is an outline of the steps taken by a teacher after a student sits a test and the teacher has marked it, and shows how simple the whole process is.
All data shown is made up for demonstration purposes only

An optional cover sheet
Some of the teachers that have used this system so far have used a table like the one opposite on the front of the paper. They have then either filled it in themselves after a test, or had students do it themselves.
This does make the next stage slightly faster, but is by no means necessary.
Fill in the Contact Details Sheet
This is best done once by whoever is leading the roll-out
Our team will help set up a report on your register systems that will pull this information out for you, so all you have to do is run the report and then paste it into here.
The warning appears to remind you to sort the data into alphabetical order.
This whole step will usually be done by the person rolling out the system and the normal classroom teacher never has to worry about it.

Fill in the Class Names
Again the person responsible for roll out usually does this step. They will set up a spreadsheet for each class by simply filling in the names in the dark blue column, replacing the numbers that are already there.
This is usually easiest to do by just copying in from the class lists.
Remove Excess Rows
The next thing to do is to remove all of the unused name rows. Simply click the button named "Click to Remove Excess Rows" and it will automatically do this for you.
The sheet is now ready for the class teacher to use!

Change How Pressing Enter Works
It's now time for the classroom teacher to use the spreadsheets.
The first thing we recommend is pressing the button in the top left of the screen that says "Move Right". It will change to look like the image here.
Now when you press enter the selected cell will move right rather than down which really speeds up entering the data, especially if you have a Num Pad on your keyboard.
Enter the Students Scores
With the enter key moving the selected cell right, this should be pretty fast. Especially if the teachers are just reading from the front page of the test.
This now allows an instant view of the class. It also shows in purple any incorrectly entered numbers, as Adeline can't possibly have 3 out of 1 for the last question.
Trends for the class can be seen at a glance. Looks like we didn't cover Vectors properly at all!
As each students marks begin to be written in the email addresses will appear for the students. If the student was absent then leave their scores blank or write some text here to remind yourself and they won't get an email.

More Analysis
The teacher can also see who might be needing to move up or down a set. The top and bottom 3 positions in the class are highlighted in red or green in the last dark blue column.
They can easily see how close to the next grade a student is. They can see what grade they have achieved too.
There is a button above the grade boundaries (not shown here) that will change the grades to fine grades for ease of input to reports.
The VA column shows if they are below or above target too. All without any additional work from the teacher
Ready to Send or Print
Once all the results are input it is ready to send them out.
Teachers can choose to send it with the grades attached or without. Clicking on the corresponding button will bring up a reminder to have opened Microsoft Outlook on their desktop (i.e. not using Webmail or similar). If they agree then it will send an individual email to each student and their parents with a full breakdown of the results.
Each Topic name will link to a Corbett Maths worksheet to enable them to practise a skill they scored red or amber in. Each Video Number links to the relevant Corbett Video for them to watch and learn the skill first if they need it.
The print button will remind teachers of the process for printing these sheets and then it will print out a colour version for each student of their individual work.
